Administrative Applications Committee

Charge

The Administrative Applications Committee will work with the ITLC, Technology Solutions, and other university offices to review, evaluate, and make recommendations on IT applications used primarily for administrative functions such as finance, human resources, student information systems, purchasing, business intelligence, and other administrative operations.

The committee should examine all issues affecting the efficiency and effectiveness of business and administrative processes with a focus on process improvement and decision support services.  The committee will also consider how to best share data and encourage the use of common business infrastructure, improve the accuracy of data, improve the usability of administrative services, and review other initiatives that increase efficiency.  The Administrative Applications Committee will become a primary venue to collect and prioritize strategic needs regarding IT support of administrative applications and business processes. Deliberations within this committee may result in University-level project proposals.

  • Evaluate campus needs to develop and recommend a strategic plan focused on administrative applications and prioritize needs Collaborate with other university units on common administrative applications
  • Evaluate funding models for administrative computing improvements including but not limited to the Technology Solutions Rate and Funding model
  • Work with university partners to develop and evaluate performance metrics for administrative applications
  • Develop a working relationship with the Data Governance committee to facilitate administrative systems that promote data-informed decision making
