Vendor Questionnaire

Compliance Vendor Questions Heading link

  • Does vendor have an Illinois Information Technology Accessibility Act (IITAA) (https://www.dhs.state.il.us/page.aspx?item=32765) compliance certificate?
    • We do not have any certification issued by Illinois, but is there one? This site doesn’t have information about how to apply for a certificate as far as I can find. That said, the site does explain that Illinois’ standards are to meet Section 508 (federallaw) and WCAG 2.0 (state law). Our adherence to those standards is outlined in the two VPAT documents.
  • Course needs to be 508 accessibility compliant –meaning a visually or hearing-impaired learner would have the same learning experience as a non-impaired learner either through listening to narration or having a screen reader (we use JAWS) read the course out loud to them.
    • Cyber Security Library:Currently supports 30/38 success criteria. Courses can be customized as follows tohit all 38 criteria(may incur a fee).
      • Organize focus order to all objects so the screen reader reads elements in the same order as they are visually seen (e.g., title –first paragraph –first image –second paragraph –second image –etc.)
      • Add audio descriptions for prerecorded video.
      • Add ability to operate course via keyboard.

  • A full transcript of the course, slide by slide (learner can toggle or have a pop-up window on each slide that has the content of the slide available to read) for those who would rather read than listen to a narrator.
    • Yes, full transcripts are available slide-by-slide,and they arealso available to download as a PDF.
  • Closed Captioning option.
    • Not available, but the full transcript (question 4) can be used to equivalently facilitate options. This is permissible by Section 508 standards, though we do understand it is not the same experience. Closed captions can be added to all courses as a customization (may incur a fee).
