Equipment Lending

Short-Term
Students may check out laptops and other multimedia equipment for the following amount of time:

  • Three business days at a time
  • Renewals available two times per checkout (if returned prior to return date/time)
  • Three times per semester

This is a no-cost service available at the Tech Helpdesk (Daley Library IDEA Commons room 1-030). Checkouts and renewals can be done on weekdays: Monday-Friday from 9:00am-4:30pm.

Available Equipment
Laptops (Windows and Apple), chargers, tablets, headsets, camcorders,  projectors, recorders, and other tech equipment.

Hotspot & Laptop Loaner Program
Please note that, as of August 17, 2022, UIC’s federal funding that supported long-term loans of laptops and hotspots is no longer available and this program has closed for new requests.

As of the Fall 2022 semester, classes are primarily in-person and campus computer labs are open and available for use. If you are unable to use a computer lab, please contact Learning Technology Solutions (LTS@uic.edu) to discuss potential alternate options.
