Michelle Mitchell is the IT Accessibility Program Coordinator at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), where she oversees the implementation of accessibility initiatives across campus technologies. In this role, she ensures that digital resources, including websites, documents, and applications, are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. Michelle has completed the Trusted Tester certification and is a key member of the Digital Accessibility Services and Engineering (DASE) team under Technology Solutions at UIC, advocating for inclusive, user-friendly digital environments.
In addition to her role in accessibility implementation, Michelle organizes and promotes monthly accessibility trainings for faculty and staff. These trainings provide essential guidance on integrating accessible design into everyday workflows and help to raise awareness about digital inclusion across the campus. Michelle is dedicated to creating a more accessible and equitable digital experience for the UIC community.
