6/30 – Price of sending SMS to or from the US will increase on June 30, 2021

UIC Qualtrics users may be impacted

There is an important announcement regarding changes to inbound and outbound text message (SMS) pricing in the United States. This change will impact users that leverage Qualtrics' SMS service.

What is the change?

T-Mobile and AT&T have announced they will be charging additional per-message fees for messages sent with toll-free numbers. Qualtrics will pass these fees through to you with no additional markup.

Starting on June 30 2021, the cost of SMS messages sent to or from the United States will increase from $.006 (0.6 credits) to $.007 or (0.7 credits) per message.

What action do I need to take?

The price per message sent in the US will be updated automatically in the Qualtrics system on June 30 2021, which means that no action is needed from you.
