August 13 – 15 | Technology Solutions Maintenance & Planned Downtime Schedule
Please note that Technology Solutions' next quarterly maintenance window begins Friday, August 13 at 9:30 PM and ends Sunday, August 15 at 11:59 PM.
Technology Solutions' maintenance windows are scheduled to have the least impact on UIC operations, and downtime for services is kept to a minimum. However, certain services may be unavailable for extended periods of time due to necessary updates. As the university prepares to enter the Fall 2021 semester, we have reduced maintenance activities for this quarterly window to minimize impacts.
Below is the schedule for maintenance window activities that will impact Technology Solutions services:
Friday, August 13
Between 9:30 PM and 11:59 PM, maintenance will be performed on the Pharos printing system software. Pharos printing services will be unavailable during this time. Wepa printing services will remain available.
Learning Management Systems (Blackboard)
Between Friday, August 13th at 9:30 PM and Saturday, August 14th at 3:30 AM, Blackboard will be unavailable for mandatory scheduled maintenance.
Saturday, August 14
No scheduled maintenance.
Sunday, August 15
Between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM, maintenance will be performed on wireless network authentication servers. Authentication to Chicago campus UIC-WiFi may fail briefly between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Authentication to the Eduroam network and to the Rockford campus wireless network may fail between 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM. Between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM, authentication to applications using Bluestem may fail. Between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM, applications using Shibboleth may fail.
