Join us for an engaging webinar on creating accessible and inclusive PowerPoint presentations! From selecting accessible templates to formatting content for screen readers, you’ll learn how to create presentations that are clear, inclusive, and impactful.

Whether you're preparing classroom materials, public-facing reports, or internal decks, accessibility doesn't have to be an afterthought. We will cover the essentials to help you proactively design with accessibility in mind.

Target Audience

This session is ideal for faculty, staff, instructional designers, content creators, marketers, and anyone who want to make their presentation materials more accessible.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Identify key accessibility barriers commonly found in PowerPoint presentations
  • Apply best practices when choosing templates and formatting slides for readability
  • Use built-in tools like the Selection Pane and Accessibility Checker to assess and fix accessibility issues
  • Create descriptive alt text for images, graphs, and SmartArt
  • Structure content using semantic elements (headings, lists, tables) for assistive technology compatibility

Michael Fu is a Digital Accessibility Specialist at UIC dedicated to creating inclusive and accessible digital experiences. He has advanced accessibility initiatives at NYU and led research and design projects for the United Nations, Google, and the Humboldt Forum Museum, applying human-centered design and compliance strategies to improve digital inclusivity. As a problem solver and AI enthusiast, Michael is passionate about bridging technology and accessibility to drive innovative and equitable solutions.
