Please join the Office of Digital Accessibility Services as our guest speakers, Elizabeth (Liz) Shallenberger and Courtney Fleeger, deliver an in-depth program on creating accessible emails. This program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to ensure your email communications are inclusive and accessible to all recipients, including those with disabilities. Liz and Courtney will cover essential accessibility guidelines and best practices across various aspects of email creation, from planning to design and content.

Elizabeth (Liz) Shallenberger (she/her) | User Experience Designer | Technology Services with UIUC

Liz is a UX strategist, designer, and end-user advocate. She is passionate about creating thoughtful, data-driven, holistic user experiences. Eager curiosity, infectious empathy, a collaborative spirit, and a joyful ethos guide her practice. Liz is a teammate with the Website Management Center of Expertise and active in the Website Implementation Guidelines Group. She is also part of the Women in Technology leadership team, an Accessibility Liaison, and volunteers on the Web Con Website and Accessibility Committees. She is a two-time U of I grad with degrees in Advertising and Information Science.

Courtney Fleeger (she/her) | User Experience Designer | IT Partners at UIUC's College of Education

Courtney is a UX Designer for the College of Education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. As a UX Designer, she applies user-centric design principles, methodologies, and techniques to develop interactive experiences for enterprise web applications, websites, and mobile apps. Courtney works closely with users, analysts, web designers, developers, writers, and quality assurance testers to develop application design specifications for the user interface as well as evaluate and test application usability and accessibility.
