Accessibility is a Civil Right

This presentation, provided by the University of Illinois (UIC), will offer a deep dive into accessibility standards and their importance throughout the years. This presentation will explore the history of perspectives and treatment of people with disabilities, linking it to the broader civil rights movement. We will examine key laws and legislation in a historical context, showcasing how they have shaped current accessibility standards. Additionally, we will highlight a few assistive technologies, exploring their development and impact on improving the lives of people with disabilities.
