Resources to ensure that university employees who are responsible for procurement purchase the most accessible ICT products for students, faculty, and staff.

1. Gather and review information

  • Define ICT use cases and the scope of usage
  • Ask vendor to respond to Vendor Accessibility Questionnaire and provide Accessibility Roadmap
  • Ask vendor to provide thier product’s Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT 2.4)
  • Review obtained documents including Accessibility Conformance Report

2. Review product

  • Request the demonstration of product with focus on accessibility
  • Use the provided Accessibility Checklist to evaluate product accessibility
  • Use Exception Review Request process if the product is not accessible.

3. Check before the requisition is submitted

  • Ensure accessibility related documents are in order or in the repository
  • Add contract language for ongoing follow up (ex: Timeline for accessibility remediation if there are accessibility issues)
  • Ensure communication about product or service launch includes accessibility information and related alternative access plan
