Digital Accessibility Strategy

At the University of Illinois Chicago, we are committed to fostering an inclusive digital environment where technology is accessible to all members of our diverse community. Our Digital Accessibility Strategy ensures that websites, applications, and online resources are designed with usability in mind—empowering students, faculty, staff, and visitors of all abilities to engage fully with digital content.

UIC's Initiative

UIC is committed to ensuring the full inclusion of students, faculty, staff, patients, and the community in all of our programs, services, and activities. This commitment aligns with our mission to provide the broadest access to the highest levels of educational, research, and clinical excellence.

ICT Accessibility Policy

The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Policy is intended to provide specific information to help all UIC units and departments comply with the policy and related procedures.

Liaison Program

The UIC Accessibility Liaison Program is an initiative aimed at ensuring that all digital content across the university is accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities.

Social Media Accessibility Policy

All official UIC social media accounts must be reviewed and approved by the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications. UIC employees who want to start a social media channel must first have approval from their college or unit’s chief communicator and then their dean and or unit head.
