Digital accessibility is essential for effective communication with colleagues and students and is also a UIC campus policy. This one-hour webinar will introduce graduate students to UIC resources and tools for creating and reviewing accessible documents and teaching materials, including PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, Google Workspace files, Outlook emails, and Microsoft Word documents.

Participants will also get a preview of the accessible template for theses and dissertations.

Presented jointly by the Graduate College, UIC Library, and Technology Solutions.

Catherine Lantz | Associate Professor, Reference Librarian & Liaison to the Life and Earth Sciences | UIC Library

Prof. Lantz provides research assistance and instruction and supports students and faculty in finding, evaluating, and using information effectively. She has also been involved in initiatives related to digital accessibility and accessible online professional development.

L. Boyd Bellinger | Thesis & Dissertation Specialist | Graduate College

Dr. Bellinger has a varied background that includes work as an educator, librarian, and editor. In his current position, he works with students on compliance with formatting and accessibility requirements for UIC theses and dissertations and is the Graduate College’s liaison to the Disability Resource Center.
